local seo costs in singapore

Are you considering getting local SEO services in Singapore but still don’t know how much it will cost? Well, as one of the providers of local SEO services in Singapore, we take it upon ourselves to educate you on how we price our services. In this document, we’ll go into all the nitty-gritty of local SEO pricing so you can make an informed decision when choosing your SEO provider.

Remember, this is directed to potential clients and other agencies looking to start offering local SEO services in the country or anywhere else.

But before we dive into the numbers, let’s first understand the basics of local SEO.

What’s Local SEO?

Local SEO, or Local Search Engine Optimization, is a subcategory of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) that focuses on optimizing a website’s online presence to rank higher in local search results. It involves various strategies and techniques, such as creating Google Business profiles, getting listed on online directories, and implementing local keywords and content.

The primary goal of local SEO is to help businesses gain more visibility in their specific geographic area, attract relevant traffic, and ultimately increase conversions.

How do SEO companies price their local SEO services in Singapore?

Local SEO companies‘ factor in various elements when setting their prices.

Some of their key considerations include:

Scope of Work

Scope of work refers to the type and amount of work involved in the project. It’s common sense that the more extensive and complex your local SEO needs are, the higher the cost.

Here are some of the tasks involved in a typical local SEO project:

  • Keyword research
  • On-page optimization (e.g., optimizing meta tags, headers, URLs)
  • Content creation (e.g., blog posts, infographics)
  • Google Business Profile optimization
  • Online directory listings
  • Social media management
  • Local link building

Remember, the scope goes beyond the local SEO services provided to the number of locations and pages optimized and your industry’s competition level.

First, the company will prepare a spreadsheet of all the counties, towns, and cities you want the business to rank. That list will be used as a baseline for their pricing.

Then, they’ll look at the number of pages that need to be optimized. Homepages, service pages, and location-specific landing pages are some of the examples.

For example, suppose you’re a lawyer with 52 offices. In that case, you’ll need to optimize your homepage for each location and create individual pages for each office or service. That’s a lot of work, and it will cost more.

Let’s Do the Math

Let’s say your company offers 28 services, and you have three locations.

That means the local SEO firm you hire must create 28 top-level pages for those services and three location-based pages for each service to your site.

That’s a total of 84 pages.

Just imagine the amount of work that needs to be done on those pages to make them rank higher in search results.

For example, using our law firm scenario, here are five examples of top-level pages the local SEO company will create:

  • https://www.examplelawfirm.com/personal-injury-lawyers-singapore/
  • https://www.examplelawfirm.com/conveyancing-lawyers-singapore/
  • https://www.examplelawfirm.com/criminal-defense-lawyers-singapore/
  • https://www.examplelawfirm.com/employment-lawyers-singapore

And now, the three specific location-based pages for each service:

  • https://www.examplelawfirm.com/divorce-lawyers-singapore/orchard-road/
  • https://www.examplelawfirm.com/divorce-lawyers-singapore/clarke-quay/

Remember, we’re working with 28 services and three locations. That means we should have created 84 pages for you at the end of our services.

And that’s just that, creating the pages. These pages need to be optimized, have proper content, and do other things. Each page must compete with every other law firm page in Singapore for that specific keyword and location combination.

The agency must consider the keywords, the header, the title, and the content to help you rank in a specific location. Even more important, they must consider backlinks to the page and referring domains.

So, considering all these complexities, it’s not difficult to see why local SEO services do cost more than general SEO services.

But what are some actual numbers?

How much does local SEO cost in Singapore?

Let’s start with one page of local SEO services in Singapore.

Creating the Page or Uploading Content to One

First, we must create the page or, at least, upload content to one.

If we’re creating a brand-new service page, that would cost S$200 or more, depending on how complex you want the page to be.

Note that you only have to create one page for all the 28 services. So, you’re only incurring this cost once unless you want some of the pages to look and function differently.

Uploading the Content

Next, we need to upload the content.

Remember, we’re not just copying and pasting the text here. We must optimize the meta tags, title, header, and other components so that the page can compete with every other law firm in Singapore for that specific keyword and location combination.

We’ll also need to use an SEO tool like Surfer SEO to provide our clients with some content guidelines. Not to mention adding relevant images, videos, or other multimedia to enhance the user experience.

That will cost an additional S$20 for each page.

The Psychology Behind Free Stuff and Buy 1 Free 1 Deals

But since we’re doing it for all 28 of your services, we’ll just multiply that by 28.

That comes to a total of S$560.

Content Creation

Every page needs at least 1,000 words of high-quality, SEO-optimized content.

We’ll go on the low end here and charge S$0.05 per word.

That’s 1,000 x S$0.05 = S$50.

Remember, we’re creating 84 pages for you, which means a total cost of S$4,200 for content creation alone.

Content Interlinking

Interlinking is crucial for SEO. It helps search engines understand the relationship between different pages on your website.

It would be best to link your service pages to your main homepage and vice versa and link related services together.

Some agencies may include this as part of their content uploading or creation services, but for the sake of this example, let’s say it costs S$5 per page.

84 pages x S$5 = S$420.

  • Webpage Creation: S$200
  • Content Uploading: 28 x (S$20) = S$560
  • Content Creation: 84 x (S$50) = S$4,200
  • Interlinking: 84 x (S$5) = S$420

Total Cost for Creating and Optimizing 84 Pages: S$5,380.

As you can see, the cost of local SEO services in Singapore can quickly add up. But remember that this is just an estimate for one aspect of a local SEO project. Other factors like keyword research, Google Business Profile optimization, and link building will also contribute to the overall cost.

What we have just done to this point is create the pages. We’ve done nothing to get them to rank or compete with other regional law firms.

That’s where the real work and cost come in.

More Costs

Here are more things we still have to do for each page:

  • Off-page SEO: Get external websites to link back to your page. The more high-quality backlinks you have, the higher your chances of ranking higher.
  • Local Citations: Consistency is key when it comes to local SEO. We must ensure your business information (name, address, phone number) is consistent across all online directories and listings.
  • Press Releases: Press releases can help generate buzz and backlinks for your business.
  • Google Business Profile Optimization: Your Google Business Profile is often the first thing that appears when someone searches for your business. It needs to be optimized with accurate and relevant information.
  • Reviews and Reputation Management: Positive reviews can significantly influence a potential customer’s decision to choose your business over others. We’ll need to manage and respond actively to reviews on various platforms.
  • Guest Posts: Publishing posts on other websites that link back to your page is another effective way to build backlinks and increase your online presence.
  • Home Page Links: You’ve heard of domain authority, right?

You can check your website’s domain authority using tools like Moz or Ahrefs (or here: https://websiteseochecker.com/domain-authority-checker/).

We need to get external sites with high domain authority to link back to your home page for a boost in rankings.

We also need to ensure all the 84 pages we created link to the homepage.

All these additional tasks will incur more costs, depending on the agency and its pricing structure.

  • Directory Listing and Management: Registering and managing your business on local directories such as Yelp, Yellow Pages, or Foursquare is crucial for local SEO.
  • Social Media Management: An active social media presence can also contribute to your local SEO efforts. That includes creating and managing business profiles on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

So, as you can see, the cost of local SEO services in Singapore is not just about creating and optimizing pages. It’s a comprehensive process that involves multiple strategies and tasks to ensure your business ranks well in specific locations.

Other Costs

We’ll not just do all these and stay mute. We’ll be tracking the progress of these pages and need to report back to you regularly.

Monthly Meetings

We need at least two hours a month to analyze, optimize, and report back. We charge S$100 per hour (since it’s customized for law firms). That’s an additional cost of S$200 per month.

We’ll need you to fill out an intake form to ensure we have all the necessary information and details about your business.

We’ll also need to talk to you in detail, understand your business, and collect logins to your website and other accounts. That will cost an extra S$100 for the time taken.

Keyword Research

We’ll need keyword research to determine the best keywords to target for your business. This process involves analyzing search volume, competition, and relevance of different keywords. Depending on the complexity of your industry and target locations, this can cost anywhere from S$100 to S$1,000.

Let’s just say we charge by the hour for this. The more time we’ll take to complete the process, the costlier it will be for you.

After every six months, we’ll need to go through this process again to ensure we’re targeting the right keywords and making necessary adjustments. Otherwise referred to as keyword pruning or refreshing, this process involves going through your Google Search Console or other keyword research tools to see which keywords drive traffic and conversions and need replacing.

The cost for this will also depend on the complexity of your industry and target locations.

Backlink Research

We’ll also need to research and analyze your current backlinks, as well as your competitors’ backlinks. That will help us determine where to obtain high-quality backlinks for your business. Backlink research can cost around S$200 to S$500.

Here’s what we do in our backlink research:

Remember, we have to do this for each page.

First, we’ll look at each URL and determine the primary keyword for that page. Then, we’ll use tools like Ahrefs or Moz to research the top-ranking websites for that keyword. From there, we’ll analyze their backlink profiles and see how many and what type of backlinks they have.

Here’s an article we wrote about this:

The cost of obtaining backlinks will vary depending on the quality and quantity needed, but it can range from S$200 to S$2,000.

Now, let’s break down the cost of everything we’ve discussed so far:

  • The Cost of Creating all the 84 Pages and uploading content: $5, 380
  • Keyword Research: $100 to $1,000
  • Backlink Research: $200 to $500
  • Off-page SEO (backlinks, guest posts): $200 to $2,000
  • Local Citations: Varies depending on agency pricing structure. But can range from $100 to $500
  • Press Releases: Varies depending on the number of releases needed. But to estimate, around $200 to $500
  • Google Business Profile Optimization: This can be included in the cost of creating pages or a separate charge of around $50 to $100.
  • Reviews and Reputation Management: We charge a monthly retainer fee of $100 to $200 for actively managing and responding to reviews.
  • Social Media Management: Varies depending on the number of platforms and level of activity needed. It can range from $50 to $500 per month.
  • Monthly Meetings: Two hours a month at $100/hour = $200
  • Intake/Onboarding: One-time fee of $100

So, what’s the Final Cost?

As you can see, the cost of local SEO services in Singapore can vary greatly depending on the agency and your specific needs. But to give you an estimate, here’s a breakdown of the approximate costs for all the different aspects we’ve discussed:

  • Creating all 84 pages: $5,380
  • Keyword Research (initial and every six months): $200 to $2,000
  • Backlink Research (initial and ongoing): $200 to $500
  • Off-page SEO: $50 to $2,000/per page
  • Local Citations: $200 to $500
  • Press Releases: $200 to $500
  • Google Business Profile Optimization: $50 to $100 (included in page creation or separate cost)
  • Reviews and Reputation Management: $100 to $200/month
  • Social Media Management: $50 to $500/month
  • Monthly Meetings: $200/month
  • Intake/Onboarding: One-time fee of $100

The estimated cost for local SEO services in Singapore can range from around $10,530 to $177,080 (excluding additional costs for off-page SEO and social media management). Remember that these are just rough estimates; the actual cost can vary depending on your specific needs and the agency you choose to work with.

On the lower side:

5380 + 200 + 200 + (50*84) + 200 + 200 +50 + 100 = $10, 530

website design banner

On the higher side:

5380 + 2000 + 500 + (2000*84) + 500 + 500+100 + 100 = $177,080

Of course, these are just estimated costs and may not reflect the exact cost for your specific business needs.

Payment Plan

Local SEO will be expensive if you view it as a one-time payment. However, it’s more of an ongoing investment that can bring significant returns in the long run. To make it easier for you to budget and manage your expenses, agencies like us often offer payment plans that can be broken down into monthly or quarterly payments. This way, you don’t have to pay a lump sum upfront but can still benefit from our services and see the ROI gradually.

For example, you can opt for a payment plan of $1,000/month for 12 months, which would cover the initial costs of creating pages and conducting keyword and backlink research. In 12 months, you’ll have a fully optimized website with ongoing SEO efforts.

Remember, a person paying $10530 for local SEO services in Singapore can not compete with another who pays $177080.

The $177080 person will most likely receive the highest quality backlinks, better content, and more aggressive SEO efforts than the $10,530 person. But in most cases, the difference in quality of service will not be that significant, and both businesses can still see improvements in their search rankings and online visibility.

It’s a Wrap

Ultimately, the cost of local SEO services in Singapore may seem high at first glance, but when you consider the long-term benefits and ROI, it’s safe to say it’s a worthwhile investment.

With the right agency and approach, you can see your website climb up the search rankings and attract more potential customers, leading to increased conversions and revenue.

So, don’t let the cost deter you from investing in local SEO for your business growth. Contact us today for a personalized quote and see how we can help take your online presence to the next level.
