Shawn Lee, Associate Director of Brands at MediaOne, sat down with Elliott Danker and Ryan Huang of MoneyFM 89.3’s morning show, The Breakfast Huddle, to discuss the importance of brand consistency and the role Social Media Marketing (SMM) plays in branding today.
In this discussion, Shawn also shares some insight into how businesses can maintain brand consistency and protect their brand equity while evolving with the times. He also touches on how internal stakeholders play a key role in a business’ branding, and the intricacies involved with influencer marketing.
“As brands go through a growth process, they change with their demographic. We wouldn’t say this change is inconsistent. As long as that brand consistency is kept as they move and change. At the end of the day, we also wouldn’t want a brand that stays static for years,” Shawn shares.
“There’s always gonna be a slight contrast or conflict between growth and maintaining consistency. You just have to be careful with remembering what your brand really stands for. Don’t lose sight of what the brand is all about, and what the equity has been for the past 30 to 40 years.”
