Top Shopping Malls In Singapore

featured top shopping malls in Singapore

Shopping malls are the miracle story of the 21st century.

With the rise of e-commerce, why’s there still a mall within a 15-minutes car ride everywhere around this island? Instead of tearing down old ones, why are most of them undergoing a facelift instead?

Most importantly, why do we continue to show up at the malls almost every weekend (and probably weeknights)?

While online shopping may offer the convenience of getting your stuff, there are definitely amenities and experiences malls provide that will be irreplaceable.

According to a Straits Times article, shopping malls evolving according to our needs. Take a look at Jewel Changi Airport. Aside from its claim-to-fame world’s tallest indoor waterfall that inspires another”Instagram moment”, Jewel also offers Singaporeans experiences of nature without being under the sweltering heat.

The amphitheatre circumferencing the rain vortex is lusciously groomed with plants, making it the perfect paktor or dating spot. Feeling too stressed out by the concrete jungle?

Trying chilling out or meditating there!

Additionally, Jewel’s canopy park and hedge maze offer some air-conditioned adventure for the whole family.

Malls can also be a place where dreams are built. With its #supportlocal spirit, Design Orchard offers an opportunity for local designers and creatives to showcase their products. There’s also a co-working space for home-grown designers to gather and collaborate.

Here are some other reasons why we will still need malls.

Some experiences are best savoured at the malls

Imagine eating your favourite ramen in a Tupperware, facing the 4 familiar walls of your room. How about drinking your Guinness Stout from a can instead of a tap?

Actually we don’t have to imagine. We are already living that life during this circuit breaker period. Loving it much? Seriously.

Yes. Online streaming this. Netflix that. Yet, nothing beats watching your favourite blockbuster in the comfort of a state-of-the-art theatre with surround sound, minus the distracting tabs on your Chrome.

There’s more transparency when you buy stuff offline

Sure. You see that nice dress on TaoBao. But how do you know it’s going to fit you, just because someone known as funkygirl_88 types so?

It could be a result of good photography and lighting. Perhaps it’s a result of good editing. Perhaps it’s a result of hiring writers like me to sprinkle flower petals and scent around the description.

You never know if a dress fits you until you try it on.

Mall provides a space where we can gather and socialise.

Hmm…what shall we do this weekend? Watch a movie? Karaoke? Yoga? Zumba? Paintball? Art jam?

Argh! The paradox of choice!

When such cognitive warfare happens amongst our friend circle, there’s a 97.3462352253% chance that we’ll end up in a shopping mall.

There’s air-conditioning, which is near survival-like vital. There’s also a range of shopping, dining and entertaining options.

While we wait for a consensus on the next activity to do, we’ll most likely end up in a café or the food court. Even if we’re tired of making a decision, many of us are quite comfortable with just staying put to talk cock and chill.

If all things fail, I’m sure there’s a cinema somewhere on the very top or very bottom level.

The Relieving Effects of Shopping on Anxiety and Stress

To begin, let’s be honest with ourselves: stress is an inevitable component of everyday life. Every once in a while, all of us feel stressed out, and it doesn’t matter if it’s because of job, school, relationships, or just the daily grind. And while there are a lot of ways to deal with stress, one of the ones that many people find to be the most fun is going shopping.

Now, I’m not talking about shopping addiction or excessive shopping, both of which can lead to a variety of problems, including financial ones. Instead, I’m referring to the act of shopping itself as a method of self-care and, when done in moderation, a stress-relieving activity. The following are some of the advantages:

1. It has the potential to elevate one’s mood.

Going shopping can be an efficient and simple technique to improve one’s mood. Dopamine is released in the brain when a person browses and selects products that they find visually pleasant or that they have wanted for a while. This can lead to a happier and more relaxed state of mind for the person doing the browsing and picking.

It’s a way of expressing oneself creatively.

Going shopping is a great chance to let your individuality and sense of style shine through. It can be a confidence booster and a method to show off your originality to find things that you really love and that make you feel good about yourself.

2. It is possible that it will give you a sensation of control.

Shopping can help provide a sense of control when life feels like it’s becoming out of control and stressful. You have the ability to select what you want to purchase, and the process of selecting those items may be both empowering and peaceful in and of itself.

3. It’s a great method to make new friends!

Going shopping with your loved ones or close friends can be a pleasurable and social activity. When perusing the racks or putting on different outfits, you can have conversations, get caught up, and enjoy each other’s company.

4. It is possible that this is a sort of self-care.

A vital component of good self-care is making time for activities that bring you pleasure, such as going shopping. It is possible for you to take a vacation from the pressures of regular life and revitalize yourself through this activity.

Shopping should not be relied on as the primary or even the primary method for relieving stress. This is something that should be kept in mind at all times. It’s just one more tool in your arsenal, and it’s vital to find a balance that works for you rather than trying to force something that doesn’t suit you. But, if done in moderation and with awareness, shopping can be a joyful, engaging, and effective way to release stress when used in this way.

5. It is possible that it will give you a feeling of accomplishment.

When you finally track down that one particular thing you’ve been looking for, it may be a very fulfilling experience. It has the potential to provide you with a feeling of success and the ability to assist you in feeling as though you have accomplished something, which is a wonderful method to manage stress and raise your mood.

6. It is possible that it will provide a change of scene.

When we are feeling overwhelmed or anxious, it can be helpful to shift our surroundings. This can make all the difference. Traveling to a different store or shopping in a new neighborhood can provide a revitalizing change of pace and make you feel more comfortable. The same is true for online shopping.

7. It has the potential to be distracting.

When anxiety and tension are weighing heavy on your mind, it is sometimes good to have something to distract you from those feelings. Going shopping is a fantastic approach to divert your attention to something that is more pleasurable and to temporarily keep your mind off of the stresses that you are experiencing in your life.

8. You may find that it facilitates your practice of mindfulness.

Buying with awareness, staying in the here and now, and paying attention to what your senses are telling you can all be considered forms of mindfulness practice. It’s possible that browsing at or putting on clothes might become a peaceful and relaxing experience if you give yourself enough time to truly enjoy and appreciate what you’re doing.

When done in moderation and with an awareness of the present moment, shopping can be an enjoyable and efficient approach to release stress.

A positive mood boost, a sense of control and success, a means to socialize, and a revitalizing change of environment can all be gained from doing so.

Hence, the next time you find yourself feeling stressed or overwhelmed, give some thought to treating yourself to some retail therapy as a kind of stress relief.

Return of Business at the Retail Center following the Covid-19

The epidemic has had a huge influence on the retail industry, as seen by the fact that a great number of enterprises are fighting for their very existence. There is, however, reason to be optimistic about the future of shopping malls as a result of the widespread distribution of vaccines and the progressive loosening of limitations.

The following is a list of recovery methods that proprietors of shopping malls and businesses can implement to help boost business:

1. Employ safety measures.

The protection of others around you should always come first, but this is more true during a pandemic. In order to make customers feel more secure and at ease when shopping in their establishments, shopping malls may choose to incorporate safety precautions such as social distancing norms, required mask-wearing, and heightened cleaning and sanitation procedures.

2. Put your attention on multichannel and online shopping techniques.

The epidemic has hastened the transition toward e-commerce, with many consumers indicating that they would rather shop online than at traditional brick-and-mortar establishments. This development presents an opportunity for shopping malls, which may be capitalized on by making investments in their e-commerce capabilities and implementing omnichannel strategies, which merge the offline and online purchasing experiences.

3. Provide incentives in the form of promotions.

Retailers might give promotions and incentives such as discounts, loyalty programs, and free gifts to customers in an effort to entice customers to return to shopping malls where they have previously shopped. In an economy that has been impacted by the epidemic, these can be useful tools for persuading clients to spend their money.

4. Develop unique experiences.

Shopping malls may set themselves apart from internet retailers by providing customers with one-of-a-kind experiences that just can’t be matched by virtual stores. Live events, pop-up stores, and exclusive product debuts are some examples of what may fall under this category.

5. Engage in cooperative endeavors with other companies.

Working together with other stores in the shopping center to promote consumer traffic and increase sales can be a very effective strategy. Retailers, for instance, could combine with nearby eateries to give discounts or special deals, or they could participate in joint campaigns with other establishments in the area.

6. Adapt and use technology.

Also, the epidemic has hastened the implementation of cutting-edge technologies such as contactless payments and augmented reality. These technologies can be embraced by shopping malls to improve the overall experience for customers and to make shopping more convenient and entertaining.

In order to recover from the pandemic, you will need to employ a variety of preventative measures, new techniques, and creative thinking. It is possible for shopping mall owners and retailers to contribute to the rehabilitation of businesses and build a more promising future for the retail industry if they put these initiatives into action and collaborate with one another.

Shopping Strategies to Help you get the Best Deals Possible

Everyone has the goal of getting the best discounts possible when they go shopping, but it can be difficult to figure out how to achieve those deals. The following are some suggestions that will assist you in getting the most value for your money:

Prepare yourself.

One of the most effective strategies to save money is to make preparations in advance. Before you begin your shopping, do some research to find out what discounts and deals are currently being offered, and compile a list of the things you require. This will make it easier for you to refrain from making rash purchases and will ensure that you receive the best deal possible on the products that you truly require.

Compare pricing.

You shouldn’t simply go with the first pricing that you find. To get the greatest possible deal, you should shop around at a few different stores or online stores and compare their pricing. You may also locate the best rates in a hurry and with little effort by using price comparison software or adding extensions to your browser.

Register for our newsletter as well as our loyalty program.
Customers who join up for a retailer’s newsletter or loyalty program are often eligible for special discounts or promotions that are only available to those consumers. This is an excellent way to remain up to date on sales and to gain access to exclusive bargains that may not be available to other consumers.

Utilize coupons and promo codes.

You can save a significant amount of money on your purchases by using promotional codes and coupons. You can find them in newspapers, magazines, or online, and you must remember to enter them while you are making your purchase in order to receive the discount.

Shop during the off-season.

Off-season shopping for goods associated with specific times of the year might be an excellent method to save money. For instance, it is typically more cost-effective to purchase winter apparel in the spring or summer than it is to do so during the winter season itself.

Negotiate.

Don’t be hesitant to negotiate the price, especially if you’re buying from a small business or seller at a market. When shopping for pricey products such as furniture or electronics, this strategy can be particularly useful.

Take advantage of programs that offer cash back.

There are a lot of credit cards and cashback applications out there, and many of them provide rewards for buying at specific stores. These benefits can stack up rapidly, providing you with an opportunity to save money on future purchases.

When it comes to shopping, getting the best discounts involves a little bit of strategy, research, and creative thinking on your part. You will be able to cut costs and get the most out of your shopping experience if you implement the methods and recommendations that are provided here.

Shopping Center: Here’s Why You Should Limit Your Purchases to Genuine Products Only

Shopping malls are fantastic places to look for a wide variety of products, including apparel, consumer electronics, and even goods for the house. On the other hand, it is essential to be aware of the significance of only purchasing legitimate things when shopping.

When we refer to “authentic items,” we are referring to products that have not been counterfeited and have been made by the very first maker. These products are manufactured to specified quality standards, and as a result, they are typically more dependable and long-lasting than counterfeit or imitation goods.

You should shop for genuine things in shopping malls for a number of reasons, including the following:

The assurance of quality

Products that are genuine have been made by renowned manufacturers in accordance with stringent quality guidelines. This indicates that the things you purchase have a greater chance of being long-lasting, dependable, and risk-free to use.

Invest on products made by the original producer.

When you purchase genuine goods, you are lending financial support to the company that first developed the product, which required an investment of both time and money. This helps to ensure that they can continue to produce goods of a high quality and give employment opportunities for their workers.

Take precautions to protect your health and safety.

Products that have been tampered with are frequently manufactured with little regard for health and safety regulations. They might be hazardous to your health and safety due to the materials they contain or the quality of their construction, both of which are possibilities.

Defend and safeguard the rights to intellectual property.

The purchase of counterfeit goods provides financial support for criminal acts such as piracy and theft of intellectual property. This can be detrimental to the original producer, making them less likely to invest in the development of new products or improvements.

You will end up saving money by doing this.

Authentic products may have a higher initial cost; nevertheless, they often have a longer lifespan and are more dependable than their knockoff counterparts. Because of this, you won’t have to replace the item as frequently, which will result in financial savings over the long run.

In conclusion, it is important to shop for authentic items in shopping malls for a number of reasons, including the assurance of quality, the support of the original manufacturer, the avoidance of risks to one’s health and safety, the protection of one’s intellectual property rights, and the savings of money in the long run. Hence, the next time you go shopping, make it a point to select legitimate stuff rather than products that have been faked.
