History of Laser Tag – Science Fiction Buffs Pay Attention!
Started in the 1970s by the United States Army for combat training purposes. This infrared beams training system has evolved beyond military usage and found itself in the arena of pop culture.
In 1979, the Star Trek Electronic Phaser Guns set was released. The goal of the game is to aim, shoot and disable the other player’s phaser, which uses infrared light and a corresponding sensor.
In 1984, inspired by Star Wars, inventor and entrepreneur George Carter III introduced a championship-like version of the game, set in an arena with a scoring system.
Presently, there are several laser tag arenas around the world, catering for both indoor and outdoor play, with highly evolved equipment.

The location was very nice, spacious, air con, very suitable for such an activity where there’s lots of movement. The staff was very patient with us, giving us a brief run-through on how the equipment work and some of the safety pointers to look out for when we play later.
Even though my gun had some error during the gameplay, the staff were very prompt to resolve the issue and they always have a few spares ready in the event of any technical problems with the equipment. There were also various functions and game modes so the game doesn’t feel repetitive during the 3-hour session. I would definitely recommend Tagtical to anyone who has yet to try laser tag to ensure a satisfactory first-time experience with this activity.” |
