Lamination Printing: Definition, Functions, Uses
Lamination Printing is a procedure of applying, pasting some thin film of plastic over card or paper prints to protect and preserve these paper sheets.
Regular forms of laminate include Gloss, Matt, or Silk. Lamination regularly gets deployed for Packaging, Book wrapping, Brochures, Business Cards, or more printed sheets.

Holographic Lamination
Cellotouch, in which Laminate has a very soft texture
Cellolux, comes with some Mini Pearl texture
Cellogreen, that is a recyclable lamination film
Laminate: Incentives
Lamination finishes offer multiple benefits for users overall, like tear-resistance qualities, finishes, better durability, or water resistance.
Getting prints laminated additionally renders prints more resistant to touch or protects these from the Wear and Tear of daily activity, inclusive of staining, creasing, or Sun Damage.
Silk Lamination
Silk lamination is based on similar principles with ordinary, conventional lamination as it also coats paper sheets over with plastic layered coating in order to strengthen the texture, enhance aesthetics, protect prints from external damage.
Still, specific distinctions between these are that silk lamination delivers, provides much softer texture or stronger protective coating due to the thicker adhesion of sticky bonds made between the prints and the coated plastic film of laminated wrapping.
Silk lamination is not 100% matt, not glossy, still, this refracts, reflects some lighting very much in the way silk refracts.
Silk finishing also leads to laminated prints that appear more aesthetically pleasing or are generally considered as a comparatively more ‘premium’ choice, owing to the end finishes looking smoother or more attractive.
Silk lamination often gets applied to coat business cards, book covers or brochures. Silk lamination is a supple form of coating which provides neat, glossy finishing to a broad spectrum of goods.
Matt Lamination
Matt lamination provides aesthetically pleasing or refined finishes, this is the reason these are typical picks for most.
Relative to alternative glosses, the matt laminate resembles more of the ‘natural’ aesthetic.
Compared to gloss lamination, matt lamination delivers a more tender texture, because it may provide stronger contrast for darker hues.
The general texture of the matt laminate feels tender, which renders this pleasing to touch, handle too many users.

I am very pleased with ktcolour, especially with their staff Crystal and Xiao Ting who went above and beyond in terms of service. The boss was also prompt in responding to WhatsApp messages which allowed for smooth communication. I sent in more than 200 old photos to be scanned for a project, and Crystal and Xiao Ting did a really great job by categorising them according to my requests. They were very friendly and easy to work with, and listened to my needs carefully. Their expert work resulted in a fast turnaround, allowing me to receive the scanned photos within a week. This was definitely no easy feat as we required the photos to be in high resolution and each scan was quite time-consuming. Furthermore, the pricing here is very reasonable given the quality of work produced. This has since been my favourite photoshop in town and I will definitely be coming back! |

* In cases where you bring prints to be laminated, there is the possibility of damage, so please prepare extra copies. Further, there is the possibility of bubbles, wrinkles, or folding. As such we strongly discourage the lamination of valuable items.
* For laminating 2 pieces of paper together, the price would be 50% more than the original price. An additional $0.20 will be charged for custom size per sheet.
