C-curl rebonding
C-curl or ‘C’ curve rebonding is essentially rebonding the hair on the top part of your head while perming the ends to create ‘C’-shaped curls that curl inwards. In order to achieve this hairstyle, the haircut should be heavy and full of volume, but without too many layers.
This treatment is semi-permanent but if it is maintained well, it can last up to ten full months. However, if the perm is not well-maintained, the curls will become loose and may even become dry and frizzy over time.
Korean natural perm
Traditional perming is usually known for leaving the hair with tight curls that can appear stiff and hard. But a Korean natural perm, on the other hand, gives you more natural-looking, feminine waves that are slightly looser. Instead of just curling the entire head of hair, Korean perms are more objective and well thought of.
A Korean natural perm focuses not just on curling your hair, but also giving you defined curls that work specifically for the shape of your head. Similar to a Japanese perm, Korean natural perms use a cold perm method as well.
Volume rebonding
Do you have damaged and coloured hair that will not be able to withstand any more damage, but you still prefer to wear your hair straight? If that’s the case, you should give volume rebonding a try. Typically, rebonding will surely achieve straight hair, but it often lacks volume and looks too stiff. What volume rebonding does is that it perms the hair where volume is desired and rebonds the rest of the hair that the client wishes to straighten.
Unlike traditional rebonding, this method uses chemicals that actually enrich the hair and moisturises it, leaving little damage to your strands during the entire process. Things you need to know before getting a signature Korean perm
Although it may be a great way to unwind and pamper yourself, there are still a few things you need to know before perming your hair.
Your hair needs to be in good condition beforehand
If you have damaged hair, whether that’s from too much colouring or from using too much styling products, it may be best to put that perm appointment on hold for the meantime. Most, if not all hair stylists will suggest against getting any semi-permanent treatment on your hair if it is not in good condition.
At the end of the day, a perm is a chemical process and is not all about the styling. If your hair is already damaged, the last thing you want to do is add more chemicals in it, which will eventually make it worse.
Perms may not work with every hair length
You may have dreamt of having long, flowy locks for a while now. However, not everyone may be the best candidate for this hairstyle. Perms will not look the best on people with dry or damaged hair, or if you have short layers. With all the chemicals that will be used during the process, the perm will actually dry out your hair even more. Perms on short, layered hair could also give you poodle-like hair instead of that sleek, messy bob that you were going for.

Permed hair requires maintenance
Getting a perm is not a one-time thing. This process is definitely a commitment that requires more than one hair appointment and post-treatments, and you might have to change up your shower routine and the products you are already using.
For those with short hair, you may need to go in for a refresher treatment after three months while those with longer hair can afford to hold off their next appointment for slightly longer. If you’re looking for a low-maintenance hairstyle, you might need to look elsewhere.
Your curls will eventually fade off
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. Just like other semi-permanent hair treatments, Korean perms will also fade off over time and the texture of your permed hair will soften and loosen. However, the speed in which the perm fades still depends on the client — some clients lose their curls faster than others.
