Horticulture refers to forms of agriculture which relate to the specialized craft, mechanics, or activity of plant cultivation.
These feature plants which are edible or decorative.
This additionally involves preservation of plants, reconstruction, landscaping, architecture, or building.
Duties that horticulturists perform:
Horticulturists apply specialized skills, theory, or equipment for intensive production of plants for leisure or decoration.
General duties for the horticulturist cover cultivation of plants or propagation.
Some major goals are assisting, enhancing plant cultivation, crops, nutritional content, pedigree or repelling of bugs or disease.
Horticulturists labor in gardening, cultivating, therapy, designing, or mechanical consulting within divisions of horticulture.
General educational requirements for entry into reading horticultural studies:
A possible, regular path is taking up the bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, and Agricultural science immediately following junior college.
Entry requirements demand a minimal pre-university background reading some biological science.
For entry to master’s degree, one need graduate fully from similar themed and related specializations of horticulture.
One may find further possibilities for research and development from horticultural fields, in which one pursues the Ph.D. and perhaps some post-doctoral.

| Review 1 | When I first met Peter, I instinctively trusted him. He is the most well-spoken, courteous, meticulous, efficient and professional landscaper I’ve ever worked with. He was always punctual. He replied promptly to my enquiry, and made a early appointment to review my penthouse rooftop deck. He recommended and explained the correct plants and materials for the extreme hot, windy and rainy weather conditions of my rooftop. He gave me a very reasonable quotation which was well within our agreed budget. He ensured and showed me that top quality materials, such as layering, pots and soils etc. were used. He rectified as much as possible some of the disasters created by my previous landscaper. His 2 staff, including his ops Mgr Saba, toiled for 2 days and nights, until 10pm to ensure the works and cleanup were completed on time. I never had to worry about their work.
My only wish is that Peter will soon regain enough manpower so that he can do the monthly maintenance service for my garden, and install the additional features we discussed such as a planted wall trellis. I do hope it will be soon. I made him promise to remember me. I can’t say enough good things about Peter and Star Landscape. He’s really a person of integrity and it shows in his work and manner. | Review 2 | Main reason for 5 stars is due to the friendliness and helpfulness of one of the Indian foreign worker staff (maybe I’m wrong but I observed that usually the foreign workers at nurseries mostly only take care of the plants and very rarely interact with visitors). I was looking for a healthy snake plant that’s not too tall and could be placed on a table (but also not too small), and after going to some of the nurseries around the area, I couldn’t find what I wanted. Only here I could find it and I was so pleased to see that they had at least 2 full shelves of it! And that staff was so friendly he greeted us with the warmest cheer when he first saw us, and also helped me pick the nicest looking snake plant. After my purchase, I wanted to get a cab home but I didn’t know the address. Somehow he could sense this as well and immediately asked if I wanted the address of the place and gave me one of the name cards on the front desk. His service had made my day, and my tiring hunt for the perfect snake plant ended on a really good note.
The range of plants here really isn’t as vast as the other bigger ones like Far East (anyway it looks like they are mostly about landscaping rather than purely nursery), but the service I’ve received here is top notch. |

I eventually selected Evergreen Gardening & Contract Services Pte Ltd for the job after meeting with Steven, their Sales Manager. He came to meet me on time, even though it was raining heavily. He assured me that the company would ensure that proper care would be taken in cutting down the trees. On the actual day, their site manager Vincent explained to me what they would do. He was pleasant and professional. His team of workers covered my fence, my outside kitchen area and even the ground with thick plastic sheets to ensure that my compound and surrounding areas were not dirtied. Their workers were polite and hardworking, doing their job fast and professionally. By the end of the day, the job was done and everything swept clean. The logs and debris were all cleared well – including the bits of saw dust and twigs on my second-storey roof. I checked the fences and whole area – there was no damage at all to the fences and property. I am very pleased with the job done by Evergreen and would recommend them based on my experience with them. I would like to stress that I did not know any staff personally from Evergreen before contracting the company for this job. This review is unsolicited, and I was not asked to give a review by Evergreen. I wrote this review because I felt they deserve recognition for doing a really good professional job. |
