Four Email Marketing Hacks that Can Boost your Site Conversion Rate

More and more emails are sent every day. Research by the Radicati Group revealed that an average 205 billion emails were sent daily in 2015. The study predicted that the figure would grow by 3% every year. As email becomes popular, businesses need to up their email marketing strategy.

The following tips will help boost the email marketing conversion rates.

Create a sense of urgency

A recent psychological study revealed that human beings are more likely to act when faced with an urgent need. There two types of urgencies you can use in your email marketing campaign;

  1. Time-based urgency. You are more likely to open click on the CTA button in an email that reads, “Final chance to buy our internet security software at 50% off.” Use phrases such as last day, limited, time, final chance, and only two days remaining to trigger time-based urgency.
  2. Scarcity-based urgency. People tend to rush to buy something when there is little of it available. The idea here is that, for there to be little of something left then a lot of people have bought it, meaning it is good. Or, the product is a limited version, so it is prestigious to own it.

Personalize the emails

How does it feel when you open an email and you are addressed by your first name? You feel recognized and wanted. When there is a personal connection, your email subscribers are much more likely to read the email and respond appropriately to the call-to-action.

Encouraging your email subscribers to reply to the emails also establishes a personal connection. The reader feels that their feedback is wanted. Towards the end of the email, out something like, “If you have questions, suggestions, or complaints, feel free to reply to this email. We will respond within 12 hours.”

Use CTA buttons

The purpose of email marketing is to get a reader to visit a website through a call-to-action. The CTA should not be linked plain text. It may go unnoticed. Design large CTA buttons. Large colourful buttons are attention grabbing leading to increased conversion rates. Have at least three CTA buttons to maximize the chances of the reader clicking.

Focus on the email subject

The subject line should stir the curiosity to open the email. State facts, statistics, or any other unknown information about your product to arouse interest. However, make sure the content of the email matches the subject. If the content and subject do not match, users may subscribe or, even worse, mark your email address spam.
